Ipevo Introduces 2nd Generation P2V Webcam for Mac or PC

A follow-up to it's original PoV - Point of View pen-shaped web camera -- Ipevo has released a new revision that's now UVC compatible: The IPEVO Point 2 View USB Camera.

This update brings cross-platform Mac compatibility as well as a higher-resolution 2MP (megapixel) sensor for even greater image clarity. A unique webcam - The P2V featured Auto-Focus with manual override ability allows tight macro close-ups few other web cams can achieve: as close as 2".

EyeBall UVC Web Camera From Blue Microphones: 2-In-1

A high-quality condenser mic Blue is famous for - combined with a pop-out 1.3MP resolution web cam and you have the Blue Microphones Eyeball - Driverless USB 2.0 Webcam with Microphone.

From demo video clips I've seen this cam has great clarity, light sensitivity and color balance - and of course superlative sound ideal for podcasting.

Video Enabled MSN Messenger 8 For Mac - Where Are You?

Hmmm. Apple Mac users are still waiting (since MacWorld Expo in Jan 2009 to be exact) for the release of Microsoft MSN Messenger for Mac that _finally has video-conferencing webcam support_ 'for the rest of us'. The Mac version of Messenger 7 did provide video-chat capabilities, BUT ONLY TO CORPORATE ACCOUNT USERS - and not to the rest of us who have @hotmail.com or @msn.com accounts.

Well the pre-announced plan was that the webcam enabled Mac masses will finally have access to the millions of pals and friends running Windows and who've had video chat capabilities for years. Let's hope Microsoft doesn't drag their feet much longer on version 8, while they're working on it Yahoo Messenger Mac v3 has made great strides - and Skype continues to be far and away the best cross-platform video, voice and VOIP telephony app out there.
